Travel

Skyscanner logo FREE – Skyscanner app. One of the best apps to use for booking cheap flights in Asia.  I use this app to find affordable flights to countries I haven’t visited yet. Skyscanner gives me the best airlines and even shows me an overview of the month on what days are the best to travel. USE THE MOBILE APP INSTEAD OF THE WEBSITE. The website is a bit too clunky and has many other offers you don’t really need. The mobile app is awesome because it simplifies things by telling you what month and days have the absolute cheapest fares.

AirBnB Logo FREE (Get $20 if it’s your first time!) – AirBnB. Hands down the best way to book accommodations. Connect with locals and stay in incredible houses, or find affordable rooms for yourself and your backpack!

Language

WayGo logo FREE with limited use – WAYGO. This app was one of those apps that saved my ass and helped me eat when I was in Japan and Taiwan. Waygo stores Chinese, Japanese, and Korean words and characters on your phone so you can hover your phone’s camera over things like a menu and have it immediately translate the characters to English.

Google Translate LogoFREE – Google Translate. Still the best app to use. It may not be the best at grammar and sentence structure, but it works well for short phrases, characters, and words. Better yet, the mobile app lets you upload images and can scan for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean characters to translate.
